The Factory panel
Herdr is a desktop app for terminals and coding agents. Its terminals run in hc, so they keep running when you close the window. The Factory panel is a mod for Herdr. It shows one product hub, and starts each step of the loop.
The panel reads the hub and GitHub. A task file in the hub stays the source. The panel does not change a status, and it does not merge. It only updates the hub from GitHub.
#Open the panel
new-project opens it for you, in a new space named after the hub. To open it for another hub, install the mod once:
mkdir -p ~/.config/herdr-app/mods/factory
cp factory-kit/herdr/factory/main.js factory-kit/herdr/factory/mod.json \
~/.config/herdr-app/mods/factory/Then add a space and a tab for the hub:
HUB=~/code/acme/acme-hub
SPACE=$(herdr-app do space.new --name acme-hub --folder "$HUB" | jq -r .space)
herdr-app do tab.new --name Factory --space "$SPACE" --mod factory \
--props "{\"hub\":\"$HUB\"}"Check the mod after a change:
herdr-app check ~/.config/herdr-app/mods/factory#The tabs
| Tab | It shows |
|---|---|
| Tasks | The board of tasks and explorations, and the milestones |
| Explorations | Each exploration, with its question and its artifacts |
| Inbox | Each line of inbox.md |
| Pull requests | The pull requests of each repository, with their checks |
| Issues | The open issues of each repository |
| Sessions | Each session of this hub |
The top bar also has Refresh and New, and it says when a session needs you.
The panel reads the files of the hub each 15 seconds. Each minute, it updates the hub from GitHub, and reads the pull requests. Refresh does this now. If the hub cannot update, the top bar says Cannot update the hub from GitHub.
